Denning Restoration

Updated: Mar 5

For many years, the Sydney Bus Museum has wanted to add a highway coach to our collection. An iconic 1987 Denning Tourmaster was acquired in 2022, built with a 6v92 Detroit Diesel engine (build number DL1247). This was made possible thanks to the generosity of many individuals and members. The coach remains in very original condition and has low mileage for a vehicle of this age.

The plan is to restore DL1247 into the very eye-catching “State Rail” candy colour scheme that was worn by several of these Denning Landseer coaches. This project was made possible by the Transport Heritage Grants Program, of which the Museum was successful for $23,650. The work will be undertaken by Coachcare in Nambucca Heads during 2024.

We thank Transport Heritage NSW, Coachcare and our many donors to make this project possible. We look forward to sharing progress updates.
